Although using the first-person point of view can be limiting, the author craftily fleshed-out all of the story's central characters.
Towards the end of the book, the story was particulary heavy with graphic sex, frankly not to my liking. This book fits into homosexual history but is broader in contexst than that as it is truly the history of same-sex relations, including sexual, but also including friendship and mentoring and sometimes comibinations of all three. It was probably a bit simplistic when it came to handling the crime that was committed, but I was excited enough about Kingston and Hux that it didn’t bother me. I had a copy of this book and loaned it out, and it was lost. But when you read about someone's experience with it, then you get a better insight in PTSD. Two of the chapters also focus on women to some extent. Read about 1960 Camaro, 1966 Mustangs, 1963 Chevy II, and others.
