It's squeaky clean, which is fine, but it's not much of a romance to my displeasure. Philip is a very fast learner and rapidly becomes the delight of Paris for his exquisite taste in clothing and his sweet, humorous, refreshingly energetic personality. But this said, I could not put down the book. Philip stays away a year and acquires more elegant style that anyone could have imagined. I love that Farrell uses magic in the way that I would if I had magic. And why "out" the hometown? I heard McLeod was from Detroit anyway so maybe the reviewer's thinking about the wrong classmate.
